About the brand:

Taking its name from the Catalan word for "heir," HEREU is a profound tribute to Mediterranean heritage and the preservation of artisanal lineage. Founded by Jose Luis Bartolomé and Albert Escribano, the brand operates as a bridge between the modernist spirit of Spain and the time-honored techniques of family-run workshops. Their footwear and bags are 100% crafted in Spain, utilizing leather sourced ethically from Spanish and Italian tanneries (certified by the Leather Working Group) and partner tanneries in Padrón that have been operating since the 1870s. HEREU’s soul lies in the "beauty of the handmade." From the signature hand-woven motifs—a craft maintained exclusively by women since the 1970s—to the use of 80% vegetable-tanned leathers and GOTS-certified organic cotton, every detail is a conscious choice. Beyond the product, HEREU is defined by its people: a diverse, international team where 76% of leadership and design roles are held by women, ensuring a workplace where female voices lead and shape the brand’s future.

Why Kimono Store Chooses HEREU:

We select HEREU for its unique ability to translate nostalgia into a contemporary, functional language. The brand’s commitment to preserving local craftsmanship while embracing a modernist, sculptural aesthetic perfectly aligns with Kimono Store's appreciation for pieces that are both rooted in heritage and effortlessly current. We are drawn to their "laid-back" luxury—the kind that doesn't shout but resonates through quality and form. In HEREU, we find the perfect "heirs" to a tradition of excellence, offering our community accessories that are destined to become enduring staples of a conscious wardrobe.
